Auckland to Rotorua & Pegasus/Spoonworks SS2

Well, well, well… we finally made id down to New Zealand, the land of bogans. Us being boings felt at home. 16 hours on a plane breathing in farts isn’t the greatest, but imaging sailing there. After assembling the crew and getting the Bogan Transporter (the van) we were off on for the 2.5 hour drive down to Rotorua. Although my drivers license and cards fell off the back of my magnetic holder on my phone in the back of the plane seat pocket, so the boys dropped me back off at the airport and 2 hours later—to no avail, the bellends at the airport couldn’t find my shite, so we were off to Meanhorse’s trap house in Rotorua. Shortcuts that ended up taking longer and a dang near monsoon. Since everything was pretty much saturated from the rain we did a nice day trip to the beautiful sights around Rotorua, specifically Waiotapu Scenic Reserve and the healing hot spring waters aided by New Zealand Lager.

Pegasus/Spoonworks SS2

After much rain, a date change and getting loose at Meanhorse’s Trap House, the Spoonworks SS2 was on. Pegasus is one of those places you can ride when it’s a little wet—much like Sheet trails, but a bit different. Tom and the boys got some shovels and rakes from (thanks S&M) and they got to prepping the trails. Scooters seem to be the rage now to pack jumps (back in my day we packed them by hand), but take note they have to be Italian made scooters or you won’t get the best results. The trails got prepped and Hugh, from Spoonworks, and the crew got the contest going. Great contest, not too hectic and it was a fun time. Scroll on!
